Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Rinse the fresh spinach under cold water to remove any dirt or grit. Pat dry with a clean kitchen towel or use a salad spinner to remove excess water.

  2. 2

    Mince the Garlic

Peel and finely mince the garlic cloves using a knife or garlic press.

  3. 3

    Heat the Olive Oil

In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat until shimmering but not smoking.

  4. 4

    Sauté the Garlic

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 30 seconds, stirring frequently, until fragrant but not browned.

  5. 5

    Add the Spinach

Gradually add the fresh spinach to the skillet, using tongs to mix it with the garlic and oil. It may seem voluminous at first, but it will wilt down quickly.

  6. 6

    Season the Spinach

Sprinkle the salt and black pepper over the spinach. Continue to sauté for 2-3 minutes until the spinach is wilted and tender.

  7. 7

    Finish with Lemon Juice

Remove the skillet from heat and drizzle the lemon juice over the sautéed spinach. Toss gently to combine.

  8. 8

    Serve

Transfer the sautéed spinach to a serving dish and enjoy as a side dish or as part of a main meal.
