Clean the Clams
Rinse the fresh clams under cold water to remove any sand or grit. Scrub the shells with a brush if necessary.

Mince the Garlic
Peel the garlic cloves and finely mince them using a knife or garlic press.

Chop the Parsley
Finely chop the fresh parsley and set aside for garnish.
Cooking

Sauté Garlic
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.

Add Clams and Wine
Add the cleaned clams to the skillet along with the white wine and lemon juice. Cover the skillet and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the clams open up. Discard any clams that do not open.

Finish with Butter
Once the clams are cooked, add the unsalted butter to the skillet and stir gently until melted and combined with the sauce.

Season and Garnish
Season the dish with red pepper flakes to taste. Sprinkle the chopped parsley over the clams before serving.
