Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Chicken
Pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness of about 1/2 inch using a meat mallet. This ensures even cooking.
- 2
Set Up Breading Station
In three separate shallow dishes, place the flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs. Season the flour with salt and pepper.
Cooking
- 3
Coat the Chicken
Dredge each chicken breast first in the flour, then dip into the beaten eggs, and finally coat with breadcrumbs, pressing the breadcrumbs onto the chicken to adhere.
- 4
Heat the Oil and Garlic
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, but do not let it brown.
- 5
Pan-Fry the Chicken
Gently place the breaded chicken breasts in the skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F/75°C).

Add Fresh Basil
In the last minute of cooking, sprinkle the chopped fresh basil over the chicken in the skillet, allowing it to wilt slightly.
