Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Pat the ribeye steak dry with paper towels to remove any excess moisture. This helps to achieve a nice sear. Rub the steak with olive oil on both sides.

  2. 2

    Apply Seasoning

Sprinkle salt, black pepper, and garlic powder evenly over both sides of the steak. Use your hands to gently press the seasoning into the meat for better adherence.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill to high heat or heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes until it’s hot.

  2. 4

    Cook the Ribeye

Place the seasoned ribeye steak on the grill or in the skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes on one side without moving it to achieve a nice sear.

  3. 5

    Flip the Steak

Using tongs, flip the steak and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes for medium-rare, or adjust the time according to your preferred doneness.

  4. 6

    Rest the Steak

Once cooked to your desired level, remove the ribeye from the heat and let it rest on a cutting board for 5-10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute.

Serving

  1. 7

    Slice and Serve

After resting, slice the ribeye against the grain and serve it on a plate. Optionally, garnish with fresh herbs or serve with sides of your choice.
