Shrimp

Peppercorn Sauce

Method

Prepare the Shrimp

  1. 1

    Marinate the shrimp

In a bowl, combine the colossal shrimp with lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Toss to coat evenly and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.

Prepare Onion Rings

  1. 2

    Make the batter

In a large bowl, combine all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, and ground black pepper. Gradually whisk in cold water until the batter is smooth.

  2. 3

    Heat the oil

In a deep frying pan, heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  3. 4

    Fry the onion rings

Dip the onion rings into the batter, allowing excess to drip off, then carefully place them in the hot oil. Fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Prepare Peppercorn Sauce

  1. 5

    Cook the sauce

In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add whole black peppercorns and stir for another minute.

  2. 6

    Add cream

Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until slightly thickened. Season with salt to taste.

Assemble the Dish

  1. 7

    Serve

Place the fried onion rings on a serving platter and top with the marinated shrimp. Drizzle the peppercorn sauce over the shrimp and onion rings. Serve immediately.
