Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Take the ribeye steaks out of the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. This helps them cook evenly.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub both sides of the ribeye steaks with olive oil, followed by a generous sprinkle of salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Add fresh rosemary on top and massage the seasonings into the meat.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to high heat, around 450°F (232°C).

  4. 4

    Grill the Steak

Place the steaks on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until they reach your desired doneness. Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature (130°F or 54°C for medium-rare).

  5. 5

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for about 5-10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.

Mashed Potatoes Preparation

  1. 6

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel the potatoes and cut them into quarters. This will help them cook faster and more evenly.

  2. 7

    Boil the Potatoes

Place the cut potatoes in a large pot and cover them with cold water. Add a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce to a simmer and cook until the potatoes are tender, about 15-20 minutes.

  3. 8

    Drain the Potatoes

Once tender, drain the potatoes in a colander and return them to the pot.

  4. 9

    Mash the Potatoes

Add butter, milk, salt, and black pepper to the drained potatoes. Use a potato masher or a hand mixer to mash until smooth and creamy.

  5. 10

    Serve

Spoon the mashed potatoes onto plates and serve alongside the grilled ribeye steaks.
