French Fries

Method

Preparing the Steak

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Pat the ribeye steaks dry with paper towels. Brush both sides with olive oil, then season generously with garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. If using, sprinkle fresh rosemary on both sides.

  2. 2

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to high heat, about 450°F (232°C).

  3. 3

    Grill the Steak

Place the steaks on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, flipping halfway through. Adjust cooking time based on desired doneness.

  4. 4

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.

Preparing the French Fries

  1. 5

    Cut the Potatoes

Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into thin strips to resemble French fries.

  2. 6

    Soak the Potatoes

Place the cut potatoes in a bowl of cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch. Drain and pat them dry.

  3. 7

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). You can use a thermometer to check the temperature.

  4. 8

    Fry the Potatoes

Carefully add a handful of potatoes to the hot oil and fry in batches for about 4-5 minutes or until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

  5. 9

    Season the Fries

While the fries are still hot, sprinkle with salt to taste.
