Steak

Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Take the ribeye steak and season both sides with salt and black pepper. Allow it to rest at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Pan

Heat a heavy skillet or cast iron pan over medium-high heat. Add olive oil and let it heat until it shimmers.

  3. 3

    Cook the Steak

Add the ribeye steak to the hot pan. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and add crushed garlic cloves. Cook for an additional 4-5 minutes for medium-rare. Adjust the time based on your desired doneness.

  4. 4

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the heat and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.

Garlic Mashed Potatoes Preparation

  1. 5

    Boil the Potatoes

Peel and cut the potatoes into quarters. Place them in a pot and cover with salted water. Bring to a boil and cook for about 15-20 minutes, or until fork-tender.

  2. 6

    Mash the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add butter, milk, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.

  3. 7

    Serve

Spoon the garlic mashed potatoes onto a plate and serve alongside the sliced ribeye steak.
