Burger Patties
Caramelized Pickles
Burger Assembly
Method
Preparing the Burger Patties
- 1
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.
- 2
Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each to help them cook evenly.
- 3
Refrigerate the patties for about 20 minutes to help them firm up before cooking.
Caramelizing the Pickles
- 4
- 5
Add the sliced pickles and sauté for 2-3 minutes until they start to soften.
- 6
Sprinkle the brown sugar over the pickles and add the apple cider vinegar. Stir to combine and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, allowing the sugar to caramelize and the pickles to become golden brown.
- 7
Remove from heat and set aside.
Cooking the Burger Patties
- 8
- 9
Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side, until a nice crust forms. Flip the patties and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes for medium rare, or until desired doneness.
- 10
If using cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.
Assembling the Burger
- 11
- 12
- 13
Place a lettuce leaf on each bun, followed by a burger patty, and top with caramelized pickles and slices of tomato.
- 14
Cover with the top half of the bun and serve immediately.
