Method

Preparing the Ribs

  1. 1

    Season the Ribs

In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Rub this spice mixture all over the pork ribs, ensuring they are evenly coated.

  2. 2

    Slow Cook the Ribs

Place the seasoned ribs in a slow cooker. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or until the meat is tender and pulling away from the bone.

Making the Barbecue Sauce

  1. 3

    Combine Ingredients

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.

  2. 4

    Simmer the Sauce

Bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to low and let it cook for 20-30 minutes until thickened, stirring occasionally.

Finishing Touches

  1. 5

    Glaze the Ribs

Once the ribs are cooked, preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Remove the ribs from the slow cooker and place them on the grill. Brush the ribs generously with the barbecue sauce.

  2. 6

    Grill the Ribs

Grill the ribs for about 5-10 minutes on each side, brushing with more sauce as needed, until caramelized and slightly charred.

  3. 7

    Serve

Remove the ribs from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before cutting. Serve with additional barbecue sauce on the side.
