Method
Preparing the Main Ingredients
Prepare the Turkey
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the roasted turkey breast in the oven for about 15 minutes to warm it through. Once heated, slice it into thin pieces.
Prepare the Tomato
Wash the tomato and slice it into thin rounds.
Toast the Texas Toast
In the same skillet or a toaster, toast the Texas toast slices until golden brown.
Making the Mornay Sauce
Add Milk
Slowly whisk in the milk, ensuring there are no lumps. Continue to cook and whisk until the sauce thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
Incorporate Cheeses and Seasonings
Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, salt, black pepper, and nutmeg until smooth.
Assembling the Dish
Layer the Ingredients
On each slice of Texas toast, layer the warmed roasted turkey slices, followed by crispy bacon, and tomato slices.
Add Mornay Sauce
Generously spoon the Mornay sauce over the layered ingredients.
Top with Cheddar Cheese
Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the Mornay sauce.
Final Bake
Place the assembled sandwiches on a baking sheet and bake in the oven at 375°F (190°C) for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
