Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.

Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, unsweetened cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.

Combine Mixtures
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.

Bake the Cake
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Cool the Cake
Once baked, allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Heat the Cream
In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it begins to simmer, but do not let it boil.

Melt the Chocolate
Remove the saucepan from heat and add the semi-sweet and dark chocolate chips. Let them sit for 2-3 minutes to soften.

Stir Together
Add the butter to the chocolate mixture and stir until smooth and glossy.

Cool the Ganache
Allow the ganache to cool slightly before pouring it over the cooled cake.

Using a vegetable peeler, shave the dark chocolate bar to create chocolate shavings for garnishing the cake.
