Method

Nachos Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the nachos base

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). On a large baking sheet, spread out the tortilla chips evenly.

  2. 2

    Add cheese

Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the tortilla chips. Set aside.

Beef Cooking

  1. 3

    Cook the beef mixture

In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it up with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes.

  2. 4

    Add onion and garlic

Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

  3. 5

    Season the beef

Stir in the taco seasoning and water. Bring to a simmer and cook for an additional 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

Assembly

  1. 6

    Assemble the nachos

Remove the skillet from heat. Spoon the beef mixture evenly over the prepared tortilla chips and cheese.

  2. 7

    Bake

Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  3. 8

    Add toppings

Once baked, remove from the oven and top with sour cream, sliced jalapeños, diced tomatoes, chopped green onions, and diced avocado.
