Method

Preparing Riblets

  1. 1

    Marinate the Riblets

In a large bowl, combine garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Rub the spice mixture over the pork riblets. Let marinate for at least 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Cook the Riblets

In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the marinated riblets and sear on both sides until browned, about 4-5 minutes per side.

  3. 3

    Add Barbecue Sauce

Reduce heat to low and pour in the barbecue sauce. Cover the skillet and simmer the riblets for 30-40 minutes, turning occasionally, until the riblets are tender and the sauce is caramelized.

Preparing Sides

  1. 4

    Cook French Fries

Prepare the French fries according to package instructions, either by frying or baking until golden brown.

  2. 5

    Prepare Coleslaw

In a mixing bowl, combine coleslaw mix with your favorite dressing and toss until well coated. Set aside to chill.

  3. 6

    Heat Cornbread

Warm the cornbread pieces in the oven or microwave until heated through.

Plating

  1. 7

    Assemble the Plate

On a large plate, place a generous serving of riblets alongside the French fries, coleslaw, and cornbread. Drizzle additional barbecue sauce over the riblets if desired.
