Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Take the bone-in New York Strip steak out of the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature for about 30 minutes. Pat it dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub the steak with olive oil and season generously with kosher salt, black pepper, and garlic powder on both sides.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill to high heat or a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat until hot.

  4. 4

    Cook the Steak

Place the steak on the grill or skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side without moving it. Flip the steak and cook for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, or adjust time for your desired doneness.

  5. 5

    Add Butter and Herbs

During the last minute of cooking, add butter and fresh rosemary to the pan. Baste the steak with the melted butter and herbs.

  6. 6

    Rest and Serve

Remove the steak from heat and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. Serve with your favorite sides.
