Method

Prepare the Crinkle Fries

  1. 1

    Bake Fries

Preheat the oven according to the package instructions for the crinkle-cut fries. Spread the fries in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake until golden and crispy, about 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through.

Make Tartar Sauce

  1. 2

    Prepare Sauce

In a bowl, mix together mayonnaise, chopped pickles, capers, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, salt, and black pepper. Adjust seasoning to taste and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Prepare the Beer-Battered Cod

  1. 3

    Make Batter

In a mixing bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. Gradually whisk in the beer until the batter is smooth.

  2. 4

    Heat Oil

In a deep pot or fryer, heat oil to 350°F (175°C).

  3. 5

    Fry Cod

Dip each cod fillet into the batter, allowing excess to drip off. Carefully place in hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Serve

  1. 6

    Plate & Enjoy

Serve the beer-battered cod with the crinkle fries and tartar sauce on the side.
