Method
Waffle Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Waffle Batter
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, ground ginger, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and salt.
- 2
Mix Wet Ingredients
In another bowl, beat the brown sugar and eggs until smooth. Stir in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- 3
Combine Mixtures
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir just until combined. Do not overmix; a few lumps are okay.
- 4
Preheat the Waffle Iron
Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- 5
Cook the Waffles
Lightly grease the waffle iron with cooking spray or melted butter. Pour enough batter onto the waffle iron to cover the surface and close the lid. Cook until golden brown and crisp, about 4-5 minutes.
- 6
Serve
Serve the waffles warm with whipped cream and candied pecans on top.
