Cinnamon Roll French Toast
Method
Preparation Instructions
Make the Custard Mixture
In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon until well combined.
Cook the French Toast
In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the soaked cinnamon roll halves and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
Prepare the Cream Cheese Icing
In a small bowl, beat together the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Set aside.
Make the Rum Butter Sauce
In a small saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Stir in the rum and brown sugar, cooking until the sugar dissolves and the sauce is slightly thickened.
Assemble the Dish
Place the cooked cinnamon roll French toast on serving plates. Drizzle with cream cheese icing, followed by the rum butter sauce. Top with fresh seasonal berries and a dollop of whipped cream.
