Biscuit & Gravy Ingredients

Method

Preparation Directions

  1. 1

    Make the Biscuits

Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in milk until just combined. Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead gently. Roll out to 1-inch thickness and cut into rounds. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Sausage Gravy

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage until browned and crumbly. Remove the sausage and set aside, reserving some grease in the skillet. Whisk in the flour, cooking for about a minute. Slowly add milk while stirring continuously to prevent lumps. Bring to a simmer and cook until thickened. Stir in the cooked sausage and season with black pepper.

  3. 3

    Cook the Eggs

In a separate skillet, cook the eggs to your desired style (fried, scrambled, etc.).

  4. 4

    Assemble the Dish

Split the baked biscuit in half, top each half with sausage gravy, and place the cooked eggs on the side. Optionally, add additional sausage patties on the plate.
