Method
Biscuit Directions
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- 2
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
- 3
Cut in the Butter
Add the cold, cubed butter to the flour mixture. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to cut the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- 4
Add Buttermilk
Pour in the cold buttermilk and stir gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
- 5
Shape the Dough
Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and gently knead it a few times until it holds together. Pat it into a rectangle about 1 inch thick.
- 6
Cut the Biscuits
Using a biscuit cutter or a glass, cut out biscuits and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- 7
Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the tops are golden brown.
- 8
Serve
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving warm.
