Ribeye Steak

Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Method

Ribeye Steak

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Take the ribeye steaks out of the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub each steak with olive oil, then season generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder on both sides.

  3. 3

    Cook the Steak

Heat a cast-iron skillet or grill pan over high heat. Once hot, place the steaks in the pan and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, depending on thickness.

  4. 4

    Add Rosemary

During the last minute of cooking, add fresh rosemary to the pan to infuse the steak with flavor.

  5. 5

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from the pan and let them rest for at least 5 minutes before slicing.

Garlic Mashed Potatoes

  1. 6

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel and chop the potatoes into even-sized chunks. Place them in a large pot of salted water.

  2. 7

    Cook the Potatoes

Bring the water to a boil over high heat, then reduce to a simmer. Cook the potatoes for about 15-20 minutes, or until fork-tender.

  3. 8

    Prepare Garlic

While the potatoes are cooking, peel and mince the garlic cloves.

  4. 9

    Mash the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add butter, heavy cream, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper.

  5. 10

    Mix Until Smooth

Using a potato masher or electric mixer, mash the potatoes until smooth and creamy. Adjust seasoning if necessary.
