Mojito Ingredients

Method

Mojito Preparation

  1. 1

    Muddle the Mint and Sugar

In a sturdy glass, add the fresh mint leaves and granulated sugar. Using a muddler or the back of a spoon, gently press the mint leaves to release their oils, mixing them with the sugar. Be careful not to tear the leaves too much; you want to release the flavor without making it bitter.

  2. 2

    Add Lime Juice

Cut the fresh lime in half. Squeeze the juice of half the lime into the glass over the muddled mint and sugar. Stir gently to combine the lime juice with the mint-sugar mixture. You can also add the other half of the lime for garnish later.

  3. 3

    Pour in the Rum

Add the white rum to the glass, mixing it with the muddled ingredients. Stir gently to combine the flavors.

  4. 4

    Add Ice

Fill the glass with ice cubes to the top, allowing the mixture to chill and dilute slightly.

  5. 5

    Top with Club Soda

Pour club soda over the ice until the glass is full. This will give the drink its refreshing fizz.

  6. 6

    Garnish and Serve

Garnish your mojito with a sprig of fresh mint and a slice of lime if desired. Serve immediately with a straw and enjoy!
