Preparing the Dough

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, salt, and garlic powder. Make a well in the center and add activated yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

Knead the Dough
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Let Dough Rise
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm area for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Mix Cheese Topping
In a small bowl, combine mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, dried oregano, and black pepper. Set aside.

Prepare for Baking
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick.

Cut Dough into Sticks
Cut the dough into small sticks or desired shapes and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Add Cheese Topping
Sprinkle the cheese mixture evenly over the cut dough sticks.

Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is bubbling and the breadsticks are golden brown.
