Prepare the Gyro Meat

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground lamb and ground beef. Mix well.

Add the minced garlic, dried oregano, ground cumin, salt, black pepper, and chopped onion to the meat mixture. Drizzle with olive oil and mix until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

Shape the meat mixture into a log or loaf shape. Wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to let the flavors meld.

Cook the Gyro Meat
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the wrapped meat on a baking sheet and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C). Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

In a medium bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, lemon juice, and chopped dill.

Lightly warm the pita bread in a skillet or microwave.

On each warmed pita, layer sliced gyro meat, tomato slices, red onion, and shredded lettuce.
