- 2
Marinate the Chicken
Place the chicken breasts in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring it is well-coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for better flavor.
Grilling the Chicken
- 3
Preheat the Grill
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 375°F to 450°F / 190°C to 230°C).
- 4
- 5
Slice the Chicken
After resting, slice the grilled chicken into thin strips.
Assembling the Sub
- 6
Prepare the Sub Rolls
Slice the sub rolls in half lengthwise, but do not cut all the way through.
- 7
Layer the Ingredients
Spread 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise on each side of the sub rolls. Layer the sliced grilled chicken on the bottom half of the roll, followed by provolone cheese slices, romaine lettuce, and sliced tomatoes.
- 8
Close and Serve
Close the sub rolls and press down gently. Cut the sub in half if desired, and serve immediately.
