Dough Preparation
- 1
Activate Yeast
In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Stir gently and let sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- 2
Mix Dough Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the activated yeast mixture and olive oil.
- 3
Knead Dough
Mix until a dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- 4
Let Dough Rise
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Filling Preparation
- 5
Prepare Filling
In a mixing bowl, combine the diced grilled chicken, Alfredo sauce, cheese, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix well until evenly combined.
Calzone Assembly
- 6
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- 7
Shape Calzones
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 2 equal portions. On a floured surface, roll each portion into a circle about 8 inches in diameter.
- 8
Fill Calzones
Place half of the chicken and Alfredo filling on one half of each dough circle. Fold the other half over the filling and pinch the edges to seal tightly.
- 9
Bake Calzones
Transfer the calzones to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
- 10
Garnish and Serve
Remove the calzones from the oven, let cool for a few minutes, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve warm.
