Burger Patties

Burger Assembly

Method

Preparing the Patties

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine 1.5 lbs of ground beef with 1 tsp of salt, 0.5 tsp of black pepper, 1 tsp of garlic powder, and 1 tsp of onion powder. Mix gently until all ingredients are well combined.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up during cooking.

Cooking the Patties

  1. 3

    Preheat Pan/Grill

Preheat a grill or a large skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, you may add a little oil to prevent sticking.

  2. 4

    Cook Patties

Once the grill or skillet is hot, place the patties on it. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip them over.

  3. 5

    Add Cheese

After flipping the patties, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty. Cook for an additional 4-5 minutes until the cheese is melted and the patties are cooked to your desired doneness.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 6

    Prepare the Buns

While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half and lightly toast them on the grill or in a toaster, if desired.

  2. 7

    Layer Ingredients

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked patty with cheese, a slice of tomato, some pickles, and your desired amounts of ketchup and mustard.

  3. 8

    Complete the Burger

Top each burger with the other half of the bun. Press down gently to secure all the layers.
