Pork Marinade

Method

Marinating the Pork

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a large bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, minced garlic, ground black pepper, smoked paprika, onion powder, and red pepper flakes. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Pork

Place the pork shoulder into the marinade, ensuring it is fully coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight for maximum flavor.

Cooking the Pork

  1. 3

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).

  2. 4

    Bake the Pork

Remove the pork from the marinade and place it in a roasting pan. Cover the pan with aluminum foil and bake for about 3 hours, or until the pork is tender and easily shreds with a fork.

Making the BBQ Sauce

  1. 5

    Combine Ingredients

In a medium saucepan, combine ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, ground black pepper, and salt.

  2. 6

    Cook the Sauce

Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally until thickened.

Finishing Touches

  1. 7

    Shred the Pork

Once the pork is cooked, remove it from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes. Shred the pork using two forks.

  2. 8

    Mix with BBQ Sauce

In a large bowl, combine the shredded pork with the BBQ sauce, mixing well to coat the pork evenly.

  3. 9

    Serve

Serve the CLZ BBQ Pork on a bun, over rice, or as a main dish with sides of your choice.
