Tahini Tahini

Method

Prepare the Shrimp

  1. 1

    Season the Shrimp

In a bowl, combine the shrimp with salt and black pepper. Set aside.

  2. 2

    Wrap the Shrimp

Take a piece of knafeh dough and wrap it around each shrimp tightly. Repeat until all shrimp are wrapped.

  3. 3

    Coat the Shrimp

In a shallow dish, whisk together the flour and eggs. Dip each wrapped shrimp into the flour mixture to coat evenly.

Fry the Shrimp

  1. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a deep skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot.

  2. 5

    Fry the Shrimp

Fry the wrapped shrimp in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Prepare Tahini Sauce

  1. 6

    Mix Ingredients

In a bowl, combine tahini, lemon juice, minced garlic, water, and salt. Whisk until smooth and creamy, adding more water if necessary to reach desired consistency.

Make Chili Oil

  1. 7

    Infuse the Oil

In a small saucepan, heat the vegetable oil over low heat. Add the dried red chili flakes and simmer for about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.

Serve

  1. 8

    Plating

Serve the crispy knafeh shrimp on a plate, drizzled with tahini sauce and chili oil.
