Method
For the Chicken Tenders
- 1
Prepare the Chicken
Cut the chicken breast into strips about 1 inch wide.
- 2
Set Up Breading Station
In three separate shallow bowls, place the flour in the first bowl, beaten eggs in the second bowl, and breadcrumbs mixed with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika in the third bowl.
- 3
Bread the Chicken
Coat each chicken strip first in flour, then dip in egg, and finally coat with the breadcrumb mixture. Press the breadcrumbs onto the chicken to ensure they stick well.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- 5
Fry the Chicken Tenders
Carefully add the breaded chicken strips to the hot oil, cooking in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.
- 6
Drain and Serve
Remove the chicken tenders from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve hot.
For the Fries
- 7
Prepare the Potatoes
Wash and peel the potatoes. Cut them into fries approximately 1/4 inch thick.
- 8
Soak the Fries
Soak the cut fries in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch, then drain and pat dry.
- 9
Heat the Oil for Frying
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
- 10
Fry the Potatoes
Carefully add the fries to the hot oil in batches. Fry for about 4-5 minutes, or until they are golden and crispy.
- 11
Season and Drain
Remove the fries from the oil and drain on paper towels. Season immediately with salt and pepper to taste.
- 12
Serve
Serve the fries hot alongside the chicken tenders.
