Preparation

Preparation

1. Prepare the Black Cherries

If using fresh black cherries, wash them thoroughly, remove the stems, and pit them. If using frozen cherries, let them thaw and drain any excess liquid.

2. Mix Cocoa and Wine

In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the Cabernet Sauvignon wine and cocoa powder. Stir continuously until the cocoa is fully dissolved and the mixture is smooth.

3. Add the Cherries

Once the cocoa-wine mixture is smooth, add the prepared black cherries. Stir gently to coat the cherries in the mixture.

Serving

4. Heat and Serve

Continue to heat the mixture on low for about 5-7 minutes, allowing the cherries to warm and the flavors to meld. Do not bring to a boil.

5. Garnish

Ladle the warm mixture into serving bowls or glasses. If desired, top with dark chocolate shavings and garnish with mint leaves.

6. Enjoy

Serve immediately, enjoying the rich flavors of black cherries and cocoa paired beautifully with Cabernet Sauvignon.
