Cocktail

  1. 1

    Prep glass

Chill a highball or pint glass in the freezer for 5 minutes or fill it with ice water while you assemble the drink, then discard the water.

  2. 2

    Rim (optional)

If you like a seasoned rim, rub the lemon wedge around the outside lip of the glass and dip the rim into a small plate of celery salt to coat lightly.

  3. 3

    Build the cocktail

In a cocktail shaker or mixing glass filled about halfway with ice, add the vodka (2 oz), house-spiced tomato mix (4 oz), fresh lemon juice (0.5 oz), Worcestershire sauce (2 tsp), hot sauce (3 dashes), prepared horseradish (0.5 tsp), celery salt (1 tsp), and freshly ground black pepper (1 tsp).

  4. 4

    Mix

Shake briefly (5–8 seconds) if you prefer a slightly aerated, frothier Bloody Mary, or stir for 10–15 seconds to combine without diluting too much. Both methods chill and integrate flavors.

  5. 5

    Assemble

Fill the chilled serving glass with fresh ice (about 1 cup). Strain the mixed cocktail over the ice.

  6. 6

    Garnish and finish

Garnish with a celery stalk and a lemon wedge. Serve with a stirrer or straw and offer extra hot sauce, horseradish, or celery salt on the side for guests to adjust to taste.
