Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Preparation

Take the tomahawk steak out of the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for at least 1 hour before cooking. This allows the meat to cook more evenly.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Generously season both sides of the tomahawk steak with salt and black pepper. Drizzle olive oil over the steak and rub it in to ensure even coating.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to high heat, around 500°F (260°C). If using charcoal, let the coals burn until they are covered with white ash.

  4. 4

    Sear the Steak

Place the steak on the hot grill and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side to develop a nice crust.

  5. 5

    Add Aromatics

During the last minute of searing, add the garlic cloves and rosemary to the grill for added flavor.

  6. 6

    Finish Cooking

Move the steak to a cooler part of the grill (indirect heat) and continue cooking until it reaches your desired doneness (about 20-30 minutes for medium rare, depending on thickness).

  7. 7

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for 10-15 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.

  8. 8

    Slice and Serve

Slice the tomahawk steak against the grain and serve with the grilled garlic and rosemary.
