Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Remove the steak from the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature for about 30 minutes. This ensures even cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub the steak with olive oil, then generously season both sides with kosher salt and black pepper.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill to high heat or heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until it is very hot.

  4. 4

    Sear the Steak

Place the steak on the grill or skillet and sear for about 4-5 minutes on one side without moving it.

  5. 5

    Flip and Add Flavor

Flip the steak and add butter, garlic cloves (smashed), and fresh rosemary to the pan or grill. Cook for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, basting the steak with the melted butter and juices.

  6. 6

    Check for Doneness

Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness. For medium-rare, the internal temperature should be 130-135°F (54-57°C).

  7. 7

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from heat and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.

  8. 8

    Serve

Slice against the grain and serve with your favorite sides.
