Noodles and Soup Base

Method

Preparation of Won Tons

  1. 1

In a mixing bowl, combine ground pork, finely chopped shrimp, chopped green onion, soy sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well until fully combined.

  2. 2

Take a won ton wrapper and place a teaspoon of the filling mixture in the center. Wet the edges of the wrapper with water and fold it in half diagonally to form a triangle. Press the edges to seal tightly. You can also bring the two bottom corners together to form a small pouch shape. Repeat until all filling is used.

Cooking the Soup

  1. 3

In a large pot, combine chicken broth, water, soy sauce, sesame oil, grated ginger, and minced garlic. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

Once boiling, gently add the won tons to the pot. Allow them to cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until they float to the top and are cooked through.

  3. 5

Add the island style noodles to the pot and cook according to package instructions, usually about 3-5 minutes until tender.

Serving the Dish

  1. 6

Ladle the soup, noodles, and won tons into bowls. Top each bowl with slices of fish cake and a sprinkle of sliced green onion for garnish.

  2. 7

Serve hot and enjoy your delicious Won-Ton Saimin!
