Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, black pepper, and chopped green onions until the sugar is dissolved. Set aside.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Beef

Trim any excess fat from the top sirloin beef and cut it into strips, approximately 1-inch wide and 5 inches long.

  3. 3

    Marinate the Beef

Place the beef strips in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the teriyaki marinade over the beef, ensuring all pieces are well-coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight for maximum flavor.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.

  2. 5

    Skewer the Beef

Remove the beef from the marinade (discard the marinade) and thread 3-4 pieces of beef onto each wooden skewer.

  3. 6

    Grill the Beef Sticks

Place the skewers on the preheated grill. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the beef is cooked to your desired doneness.

  4. 7

    Serve

Remove the skewers from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes. Serve warm with additional teriyaki sauce on the side if desired.
