Salmon
Teriyaki Sauce
Pulehu Marinade
Method
Preparation of Salmon
- 1
Marinate Salmon
Choose between the teriyaki sauce or pulehu marinade for your salmon fillets. If using teriyaki sauce, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, mirin, minced garlic, and grated ginger in a bowl. For the pulehu marinade, mix soy sauce, lime juice, minced garlic, brown sugar, black pepper, and red chili flakes in a separate bowl. Place salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour the chosen marinade over them. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- 2
Preheat Grill
While the salmon is marinating, preheat your charbroiler or grill to medium-high heat (about 375°F or 190°C).

Cook the Salmon
Remove the salmon from the marinade and let any excess liquid drip off. Season the fillets with salt and black pepper. Place the salmon skin-side down on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes. Carefully flip the salmon and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.

Plate the Salmon
Once cooked, remove the salmon from the grill and let it rest for a couple of minutes. Serve on a plate and drizzle with additional teriyaki sauce or sprinkle with fresh herbs if desired.
