Bulkogi (Korean BBQ Beef)

Serving

Method

Bulkogi Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinate the Beef

In a bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, chopped green onions, and black pepper. Slice the beef sirloin thinly across the grain and add it to the marinade. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes or overnight in the refrigerator for better flavor.

  2. 2

    Cook the Beef

Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef to the grill and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until caramelized and cooked through. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top before serving.

Chicken Katsu Preparation

  1. 3

    Prepare the Chicken

Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides. Dredge each piece in flour, shaking off the excess, then dip into the beaten eggs, and finally coat with panko breadcrumbs, pressing lightly to adhere.

  2. 4

    Fry the Chicken

In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the breaded chicken pieces. Fry for 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Serving the Dish

  1. 5

    Plate the Mix Plate

On a serving platter, place a portion of steamed rice, add the cooked bulgogi beef, and the chicken katsu. Garnish with pickled vegetables on the side. Serve warm.
