J.R. Tartar Ingredients

Method

J.R. Tartar Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Tuna

Finely dice the fresh tuna into small cubes, ensuring it is uniform for even texture.

  2. 2

    Mix the Ingredients

In a medium-sized bowl, combine the diced tuna with the shallots, capers, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Gently fold the mixture until all ingredients are well incorporated.

  3. 3

    Chill the Mixture

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the tuna mixture for at least 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Avocado

While the tuna mixture is chilling, slice the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop out the flesh. Cut the avocado into small cubes and sprinkle with a little lemon juice to prevent browning.

  5. 5

    Serve the Tartar

After the tuna has chilled, remove it from the refrigerator. Gently fold in the diced avocado and chives. Serve the J.R. Tartar in a bowl or on a plate with tortilla chips on the side for dipping.
