Chicken Preparation

Spicy Teriyaki Sauce

Method

Chicken Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chicken

Slice the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces.

  2. 2

    Set Up Breading Station

In three separate bowls, set up your breading station: one with flour mixed with salt and pepper, another with beaten eggs, and the third with panko breadcrumbs.

  3. 3

    Bread the Chicken

Dip each piece of chicken first into the flour, then into the egg, and finally coat with panko breadcrumbs. Place the breaded chicken on a tray.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a deep frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot (about 350°F or 175°C).

  5. 5

    Fry the Chicken

Carefully add the breaded chicken pieces to the hot oil in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 4-5 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Spicy Teriyaki Sauce

  1. 6

    Combine Ingredients

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and Sriracha sauce.

  2. 7

    Thicken the Sauce

In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry. Once the sauce is simmering, add the slurry to the saucepan, stirring continuously until the sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes.

Final Assembly

  1. 8

    Toss the Chicken

In a large mixing bowl, add the fried chicken pieces and pour the spicy teriyaki sauce over them. Toss gently until all chicken is well coated with the sauce.

  2. 9

    Serve

Plate the chicken and serve hot. Optionally, garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
