Method

Preparation of Ahi Tuna

  1. 1

    Dice the Ahi Tuna

Using a sharp knife, cut the sushi-grade Ahi tuna into small, bite-sized cubes. Aim for approximately 1/2-inch pieces for the best texture.

Preparing the Avocado and Scallions

  1. 2

    Slice the Avocado

Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh out with a spoon. Dice the avocado into similar-sized pieces as the tuna.

  2. 3

    Chop the Scallions

Rinse the scallions thoroughly. Slice the green tops and white bulbs thinly, keeping them separate for garnish.

Making the Dressing

  1. 4

    Mix the Dressing Ingredients

In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, honey, and red pepper flakes until well combined. Adjust seasoning to taste.

  2. 5

    Add Sesame Seeds

Stir in the sesame seeds into the dressing mixture to add texture and flavor.

Combining Ingredients

  1. 6

    Combine Tuna, Avocado, and Scallions

In a large mixing bowl, gently combine the diced Ahi tuna, avocado pieces, and chopped scallions.

  2. 7

    Dress the Poke

Pour the sesame soy dressing over the tuna mixture and gently toss until everything is evenly coated.

Serving

  1. 8

    Plate and Serve

Serve the Ahi poke immediately in bowls or on a plate. Garnish with additional scallions and sesame seeds if desired.
