Method
Prepare the Protein
- 1
Cook the Ground Beef
In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 7-10 minutes. Drain excess fat and stir in taco seasoning. Add 1/4 cup water and simmer for 5 minutes.
- 2
Prepare the Shredded Chicken
If using shredded chicken, heat in a separate pan over medium heat. Mix with taco seasoning and a splash of water to keep it moist. Stir until heated through, about 5 minutes.
Assemble the Tacos

Warm the Taco Shells
If using flour tortillas, warm them on a skillet for about 30 seconds on each side until soft. For corn taco shells, follow package instructions to heat them in the oven.
- 4
Fill the Tacos
Take a heated taco shell and fill it with your choice of protein (ground beef or shredded chicken).
- 5
Add Toppings
Top the filled tacos with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and shredded cheddar cheese. Repeat for all tacos.
