Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinate the Steak

In a bowl, combine olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Rub the mixture over the steak and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Grill the Steak

Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Grill the steak for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until it reaches the desired doneness. Remove from grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Salsa Ranchera Preparation

  1. 3

    Prepare the Salsa

In a blender, combine the tomatoes, onion, jalapeño, garlic, and lime juice. Blend until smooth. Stir in the chopped cilantro and season with salt to taste.

Quesadilla Assembly

  1. 4

    Assemble Quesadillas

On a clean surface, place one tortilla down. Layer with a generous amount of cheddar cheese, followed by sliced grilled steak. Top with another tortilla.

  2. 5

    Cook Quesadillas

Heat a skillet over medium heat. Place the assembled quesadilla in the skillet and cook until the bottom is golden brown, about 3-4 minutes. Flip and cook the other side until golden and the cheese is melted.

  3. 6

    Slice and Serve

Remove the quesadilla from the skillet, let it cool slightly, and slice into wedges.

Serving

  1. 7

    Plate the Dish

On a plate, serve the sliced quesadilla with cooked rice, refried beans, fresh lettuce, and a dollop of sour cream. Drizzle with homemade salsa ranchera.
