Method

Making the Dough

  1. 1

    Prepare the Mixture

In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water, 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter, 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar, and 1 teaspoon of salt. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.

  2. 2

    Add Flour

Once the mixture is boiling, remove it from the heat and stir in 1 cup of all-purpose flour until the mixture forms a ball. Let it cool for about 10 minutes.

  3. 3

    Incorporate Eggs

After the dough has cooled slightly, add 2 large eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the dough is smooth and glossy.

Frying the Churros

  1. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a deep frying pan, heat 4 cups of vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 5

    Pipe the Dough

Using a star-shaped piping tip, fill a piping bag with the dough. Pipe strips of dough about 4-6 inches long directly into the hot oil.

  3. 6

    Fry Until Golden

Fry the churros in batches for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown. Remove them from the oil and drain on paper towels.

Topping the Churros

  1. 7

    Mix Sugar and Cinnamon

In a shallow dish, combine 1 cup of granulated sugar and 2 tablespoons of ground cinnamon.

  2. 8

    Coat the Churros

While the churros are still warm, roll them in the sugar-cinnamon mixture until they are fully coated.

  3. 9

    Serve with Honey

Drizzle honey over the churros before serving or serve it on the side for dipping.
