Prepare Wheat Squares

Fry the Wheat Squares
Heat the vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the wheat squares one at a time, frying them until they puff up and turn golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes. Remove them from the oil and drain on paper towels.

Prepare Refried Beans
In a small saucepan, heat the refried beans over medium heat until warmed through, stirring occasionally. Set aside.

Prepare Cabbage
Wash and shred the cabbage finely. Set aside in a bowl.

Prepare Other Toppings
Slice the tomatoes and avocado. Crumble the queso fresco into small pieces.

Assemble the Dish
Take a fried wheat square and spread a generous layer of refried beans on top. Add a handful of shredded cabbage, followed by a dollop of sour cream. Top with tomato slices, crumbled queso fresco, and avocado slices. Repeat for each wheat square.
