Method

Cheese Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Cheese Sticks

Take the mozzarella cheese sticks out of the package and set them aside on a plate. Ensure they are all of equal size for even cooking.

Breading Mixture

  1. 2

    Prepare the Breading Station

In a shallow dish, place the all-purpose flour. In a second shallow dish, beat the eggs. In a third shallow dish, combine the bread crumbs, garlic powder, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 3

    Bread the Cheese Sticks

Coat each mozzarella stick first in the flour, shaking off any excess. Next, dip it into the beaten eggs, ensuring it's fully covered. Finally, roll it in the seasoned bread crumbs, pressing gently to ensure the crumbs adhere. Repeat for all cheese sticks.

Frying

  1. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large, deep skillet or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can test the oil by dropping a small piece of bread into it; if it sizzles, it’s ready.

  2. 5

    Fry the Mozzarella Sticks

Carefully add the breaded mozzarella sticks to the hot oil in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for 2-3 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove them and transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Dipping Sauce

  1. 6

    Serve with Marinara Sauce

In a small bowl, pour the marinara sauce and serve it alongside the hot mozzarella sticks for dipping.
