Sub Assembly

Method

Meatballs Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, parmesan cheese, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated.

  2. 2

    Form Meatballs

With your hands, form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter. You should get around 12 meatballs.

  3. 3

    Cook Meatballs

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 20 minutes or until cooked through.

Sub Assembly

  1. 4

    Prepare Marinara Sauce

While the meatballs are baking, heat the marinara sauce in a small saucepan over medium heat until warmed through.

  2. 5

    Assemble Subs

Once the meatballs are cooked, take the sub rolls and slice them open. Place 3-4 meatballs in each sub roll, then top with warm marinara sauce.

  3. 6

    Add Cheese

Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the meatballs and marinara sauce generously.

  4. 7

    Melt Cheese

Place the assembled subs under the broiler for 2-3 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning.

  5. 8

    Garnish and Serve

If desired, sprinkle fresh basil on top before serving. Serve the meatball subs hot.
