Method

Prepare Gyro Meat

  1. 1

    Mix the Meat

In a large bowl, combine ground lamb, ground beef, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, dried oregano, ground cumin, salt, and black pepper. Mix until fully incorporated.

  2. 2

    Shape and Cook

Form the meat mixture into a loaf shape or press into a loaf pan. Brush the top with olive oil. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 45-60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).

  3. 3

    Slice the Meat

Once cooked, let the meat rest for 10 minutes before slicing thinly for serving.

Prepare Vegetables

  1. 4

    Slice Vegetables

While the meat is baking, slice the tomato and onion into thin rounds. Shred the lettuce and set aside.

Prepare Pita Bread

  1. 5

    Warm the Pita

Warm the pita bread in a dry skillet over medium heat or in the oven for a few minutes until soft and pliable.

Prepare French Fries

  1. 6

    Cook French Fries

Cook the frozen French fries according to package instructions, typically in an oven or fryer until golden and crispy.
