Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium heat.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Tuna Mixture

In a medium bowl, combine the canned tuna, mayonnaise, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.

  3. 3

    Assemble the Sandwich

Take two slices of Texas toast and spread the tuna mixture evenly on each slice. Top with shredded cheddar cheese, lettuce leaves, and sliced tomatoes. Place the other two slices of Texas toast on top to form the sandwiches.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Grill the Sandwiches

Brush the outside of each sandwich with olive oil or butter. Place the sandwiches on the preheated grill or skillet. Grill for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.

  2. 5

    Serve

Once grilled to perfection, remove the sandwiches from the heat, cut in half if desired, and serve immediately with extra lettuce and tomato on the side.
