Method

Chicken Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chicken

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Season the chicken breasts on both sides with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Bread the Chicken

Set up a breading station with three shallow bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs mixed with grated Parmesan cheese. Dredge each chicken breast in flour, dip in the egg, then coat thoroughly with the breadcrumb mixture.

  3. 3

    Cook the Chicken

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the breaded chicken breasts and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Transfer to a baking dish.

  4. 4

    Add Cheese

Top each piece of chicken with shredded mozzarella cheese. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Pasta Cooking

  1. 5

    Cook the Pasta

In a large pot, bring water to a boil and add 1 tablespoon of salt. Add the spaghetti or penne and cook according to package instructions until al dente.

  2. 6

    Drain the Pasta

Once cooked, drain the pasta and set aside. You can toss it with a little olive oil to prevent sticking.

Marinara Sauce Preparation

  1. 7

    Make the Marinara Sauce

In a saucepan, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

  2. 8

    Combine Ingredients

Add the crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, black pepper, and sugar to the saucepan. Stir well and let simmer for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  3. 9

    Adjust Seasoning

Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning if necessary, adding more salt or sugar to balance the flavors.

Serving

  1. 10

    Plate the Dish

On each plate, serve a portion of the cooked pasta topped with marinara sauce. Place a piece of the baked chicken parmesan on top of the pasta.

  2. 11

    Garnish and Serve

Optional: Garnish with additional grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy!
